Kimberly Lock
is passionate about plants! She has been designing,
installing, and maintaining garden landscapes for residential clients
since 2003. She is a member of The
Pennsylvania Horticulture Society (PHS), and recipient of several PHS
awards for outstanding garden design and maintenance of her residential
garden in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Currently, her garden is being
photographed for entry into the Smithsonian Institution's Archives of
American Gardens. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture
from Temple University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. While attending
Temple University, Kimberly served as President of the Landscape
Architecture and Horticulture Student Association, President and
Vice-President of Pi Alpha Xi National Honor Society for Horticulture
students, a student ambassador, representative of student government,
and member of the Horticulture Marketing Committee. She received
numerous scholarship awards for academic excellence and leadership in
Horticulture on both the local and national levels. Kimberly
participated in two of Temple Universities award winning Philadelphia
Flower Show exhibits; Progressive Women in Horticulture and Riparian
Restoration. She assisted in the design and installation to restore the
Edith Rosenwald Memorial Gardens at the Abington Art Center in Abington,
Pennsylvania, and subsequently participated in the Temple/Villanova
Sustainable Stormwater Management Initiative located in the Pennypack
Watershed where she assisted with invasive plant removal, planting
design, and installation of a new native plant pallet on Inverness Lane
in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania.
Prior
to her admission into the Horticulture Program at Temple University,
Kimberly worked in corporate industry for 15 years. She has a proven
success record in credit analysis and collections management. Kimberly
completed two years of coursework in Management and Marketing at the
Community College of Philadelphia where she holds membership in Phi
Theta Kappa, an international honor society for two-year colleges. She
successfully completed coursework in the Fast Trac II Program as
prescribed by the Women's Business Development Center (WBDC) in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a non-profit organization helping women
entrepreneurs with start-up and growing businesses. Subsequently, she
founded and operated PBR Recovery Services, a home-based business
providing third-party debt collection services for commercial clients.
