Kimberly Lock’s love affair with horticulture began when she was very young. Always preferring to be outside, she thrilled at how her father transformed their backyard in Philadelphia into an urban oasis! In retrospect, that wonderful little garden was the muse for an inspired career path.

Having completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Horticulture at Temple University with highest honors, Kimberly’s love of gardening and passion for creating beautiful outdoor living spaces inspired her to form the company Eco-Chic Gardens with the help of her friend and colleague, Ann Laughlin, in 2007.

Today, Kimberly’s role at Eco-Chic Gardens focuses on the strategic and tactical management of the Company’s daily operations and accounting systems. She is committed to the responsible stewardship of the Eco-Chic team and culture that consistently delivers extraordinary horticultural products and services.

Kimberly’s professional resume includes multiple awards in recognition of her unique garden design work and outstanding plant maintenance. She serves on a local planning committee in Bucks County that initiated, built, and maintains a community garden for its residents. Kimberly is a NOFA Accredited Land Care Professional. In her leisure time, she enjoys gardening, volunteering, swimming, hiking and Latin dancing.

Ann Laughlin

Ann is passionate about the field of horticulture, landscape design and the outdoor environment. She believes that plants are more than just pretty. Plants, horticulture and working in the landscape industry are fun ways to connect people with nature.

Ann co-founded and launched Eco-Chic Gardens with business partner, Kimberly Lock, in 2007. Ann leads the company’s business development through sales and marketing, and she manages human resources and technology.

Ann has 17 plus years’ experience in horticulture and the landscape industry. She has worked in residential landscaping, estate gardening, retail nursery sales, and at public gardens. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Horticulture from Temple University. Ann continues to pursue educational programs to stay informed of industry trends and is NOFA accredited in Organic Land Care.

Ann supports many local groups like, Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve and the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association. Plants are not her only passion. When she is not working, you can usually find her with family or friends, at the yoga studio, or with a book, (usually garden related...she can’t help it).
